The CJGJ signings will be either epic or a disaster. No middle ground. If he has some gas left and is willing to play within the scheme it'll be great. If he's going to be all talk and no juice it'll be a disaster. Dude is a character. Certainly a guy that McD never would've signed.
Agreed about the upside.
I'll take the L on Samuel. I thought he was going to ball for us. He was pretty decent for Washington despite the mediocre QB play. But between the Brady disdain for WR play and CS being a complete and utter wuss that was always hurt we got robbed.
On paper I like it ... then again I liked the Samuel too and we all know how that turned out. Moore is a baller.
I guess it depends on how Brady utilizes him. We have seen WR production fall off a cliff under Brady (sans Shakir). Its happened with every receiver that's stepped on the field for us.
Agree with some of your post. I think Allen holds himself accountable plenty. Doesn't really need a guy for that. You've seen him after every loss. He will never, ever blame anyone but himself whether the blame is warranted or not.
I do agree he should not have had a say in the new hire though.
There's about 3 ways to read this. Pick yours
1) They really do feel like a small change (albeit at the top) is the only thing missing from this current set up so they went with the least "rocking" hire to keep most of the structure intact.
2) Beane wants no part of a new guy to possibly...
Color me absolutely and insanely perplexed as to why Antonio Weaver and Lou Anarumo are candidates for ANY opening.
Miami's D sucks. Allen has had his way with them. Why on earth would you hire a guy that coaches a defense you've destroyed time and time again.
As for Anarumo it is...
Agreed.
I think Fitz said something to that effect in his podcast with Whitmore. Josh does not need a golf buddy. He needs someone to coach him hard, to get in his face and take him to the next level.
