We only have a couple weeks left before the regular season kicks off and it can’t get anymore exciting. Pretty soon, NFL fans will see their favorite teams take the field for the first time and then we will have football every week up until February. All that is left is the final preseason week and roster cuts.
There is limited time for fans and analysts to make their final projections before we kick off the season. Whether it is stats, choosing an MVP candidate, division winners, and even a Super Bowl champion. When it comes to the Buffalo Bills, they will be closely observed by viewers right from the beginning. Everyone is curious about what this team will look like because of the overhaul that the roster had this offseason.
Despite there being more doubters this upcoming season than the last four years, there are still plenty of people that firmly believe that the Bills will capture their fifth consecutive AFC East title. CBS Sports Senior Writer Will Brinson published a win-loss record for each NFL team article and Brinson shows that the Bills still run the division.
Brinson projected the Bills to finish the regular season with a 10-7 record, which is one game behind from their record last year. As for the rest of the division, Brinson has the Jets and Dolphins finishing at 9-8, then has the Patriots at the very bottom at 5-12.
It’s also important to mention that Brinson wrote that Josh Allen will win the MVP award, which would be Allen’s first award of his career.
Brinson is one of the few writers that believes that Allen will truly take this team to the next level all by himself. However, it’s not like Allen doesn’t have valuable weapons around him. Maybe they aren’t the biggest names like Stefon Diggs, but the new additions to the offense seem to be a better fit for Joe Brady’s offense.
Keon Coleman has a high ceiling as a rookie, Curtis Samuel is a versatile receiver who can line up anywhere in the offense, and then there is Dalton Kincaid who is Buffalo’s rising tight end from last year.
When it comes to the defensive perspective, this unit has proven that even if they are faced with multiple injuries (which they currently are), the next man up mentality has worked under Sean McDermott. Brinson mentioned that there is concern about the edge rusher spot but believes that McDermott will get the best out of this group in the season.
Before we know it, we will see if Brinson’s projection will come true for the Bills. The division is not won in the beginning of the year (just ask Miami about that), but it all matters once November and December roll around. Buckle up Bills Mafia, it’s almost time for Week 1.
