Great Lakes winters have shortened by two weeks since 1995

It's funny this came out. We're in a "cold snap" but historically, it's just winter. Our bodies are already being conditioned to the warmer temps.
Yeah, this has been an odd winter. First frost was not until mid November (growing up in the nineties first frost normally happened in Mid October). We have had two snows (a powdering a few weeks ago and this snow, 8 to 10 inches) but all things considered there hasn't been too much snow. Hell, I remember when the Missouri and Kansas Rivers iced over, that hasn't happened in years. How much you wanna bet that the allergens wake up around the Superbowl again.

Yup.

I picked salad from my raised bed on Christmas in 2023.

I am less than a mile from Lake Ontario.
We've had more white Halloweens than Christmas' over the past 25 years.

I've noticed the earliest flowers poking through the snow in February the past several years. The grass was green (so growing) last week when it was 50 and raining.

Not just there. When I moved to IL, January and February were brutal. Frigid wind chills, snow. It was MUCH colder here than back home, with less snow, sure but still, ice storms were common.
2013 was like being back home. It snowed every day. I have pictures of low visibility from the snow and wind, and since then, nothing. We have gotten the polar vortexes, but less than a few inches of snow combined for the season. I haven't worn more than a few hoodies over long-sleeved shirts in years of working outside in winter. This month is mostly in the 20's but winter here doesn't;t really start til December and it's over in March. Even next month the forecast is mostly days in the 30's and 40's

If we can just keep burnin' carbon as a human race, soon the north part of the North American Continent will be like the tropics...
