So the plane was allegedly downed by bird strike. However, evidence exists it was actually brought down by anti-aircraft weapons. I'm curious to see how this shakes out. The footage of the plane struggling to stay in the air is pretty tough to watch as it's control and speed decays, eventually leading to the crash.

82 sources for this wiki page and this plane crash .. yeah, this is one to keep an eye on. How much truth will come out seeing Russia is involved.

The footage I have seen from a passenger is that the plane was very poorly maintained. There is a section over one of the engines that wasn't even taped down. The plane probably should have never taken flight

If it was hit by anti aircraft weaponry, it appears the flight deck was able to keep the plane flying and under some sort of control for a pretty long time. Enough that passengers were able to film the aftermath of the strike. The inside of the cabin was heavily damaged.

Again, all the facts haven't come out yet. But it looks like the flight crew did one hell of a job to save the aircraft. And likely saved lives.

But it is looking more and more likely that it was Russia. What a shock.

who was attacking Grozny with drones. You left that part out. Maybe if Zelensky didn't like committing war crimes like bombing civilians there would not have been a sam

This all boils down to Putin's invasion of foreign soil.

Russia started this. Russia has been committing war crimes since the beginning.

"But Ukraine!"

Putin started this mess.

Oh, so Russia hasn't bombed civilians and did it first and continues to??

Putin apologizes for ‘tragic’ Azerbaijan Airlines crash, without admitting responsibility

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has apologized for the fact that an Azerbaijan Airlines flight crashed after entering Russian airspace in Grozny, Chechnya on Wednesday, but did not say that Russia was responsible.

Putin said Saturday that Russia’s air defense systems were active when the plane attempted to land in Grozny, according to the Kremlin. Unable to reach the airport, the aircraft diverted east, eventually crashing near Aktau, Kazakhstan, killing 38 people on board.
