Kim Pegula at Bills practice after cardiac arrest

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Kim Pegula walked onto the field, with the help of her husband and Buffalo Bills owner, Terry Pegula, at the end of the third training camp practice, and helped break down the team huddle, marking her first such public appearance since suffering cardiac arrest in June 2022.

As practice came to a wrap, the team transitioned into its typical stretching period, but moved to one end zone of the field, unlike the typical midfield stretch. Terry Pegula then guided his wife to the field where the team gathered around her. Quarterback Josh Allenstepped into the middle, next to coach Sean McDermott. Allen put his arm on Kim Pegula, and she raised her hand in the air as Allen said, "Bills on three.1, 2, 3, Bills!"

Can she see, or did this terrible thing she went through steal her sight as well? She does have some stroke like symptoms but it also looks like she can't see.

She can probably see but probably has terrible vision problems like double vision, blurry vision, spacial inattention and the sort.

For the first time since suffering cardiac arrest in the summer of 2022, Kim Pegula made a public appearance with the Buffalo Bills at the end of Friday’s training camp practice. Her husband and team owner Terry Pegula walked alongside Kim and led her from the family vehicle parked a few feet from an end zone to coach Sean McDermott and the huddled-up Bills roster.

Once the team president of the Bills and Sabres, Kim Pegula no longer holds those titles but is still listed in the teams’ media guides as an owner.

After the team broke down the huddle, Kim Pegula returned to the vehicle, and it drove away moments later. Kim has been at each of the first three practices this summer parked in the same vehicle by the field, though this was the first time she exited the SUV. She was first seen during the team’s 2023 training camp during a handful of practices, parked alongside the field in the same spot.

Months after Kim’s cardiac arrest in 2022, the family revealed in early 2023 that she was dealing with expressive aphasia. The Athletic’s Tim Graham uncovered this May that Terry Pegula filed to have his wife ruled incapacitated and to be made her guardian in February 2023. That March, a judge named Terry Pegula the “plenary guardian” of Kim, to which many of her assets were placed in a trust with Terry as one of the co-trustees.

In her official bio with the team, it says the cardiac arrest “has affected her everyday life” and she “is currently undergoing long-term physical and occupational therapy.”
