The Miami Dolphins cut White on Sunday, clearing the way for Skylar Thompson tp serve as the top backup to Tua Tagovailoa
White backed up Tagovailoa in 2023 after signing a two-year contract with the Dolphins last offseason. He appeared in six games in last season, throwing for 74 yards and one touchdown with one interception.
White completed 20 of 43 passes for 179 yards with no touchdowns this preseason with Miami.
A fifth-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2018, White spent two seasons with the New York Jets before joining the Dolphins.
The Bills parted ways with quarterbacks Ben DiNucci and Anthony Brown as they trimmed their roster to 53 players on cutdown day Tuesday.
Top backup Mitch Trubisky suffered a knee injury in the Bills' exhibition Aug. 17 at Pittsburgh. It's not yet clear whether Trubisky will be ready to play if needed when the Bills open the regular season Sept. 8 against the Arizona Cardinals.
