Also, something else has been happening. Twitter premium subscribers who paid for verification are having their verification removed because they disagree with musk on work visas.
I actually sorta feel for Maga Twitter because they paid to have their voices amplified, as stupid as they are, and Elon is all butthurt over it.

This won't last. Elon is a gutless little pussy (almost as much as Lecter) so once the only people who pretend to like him have complained enough he's going to buckle and revert the revocation of their stuff. He'll grovel at their Nazi feet and it'll all blow over.

Every time I see one of these Trump worshipers proudly claim that Elon Musk returned freedom of speech to Twitter, I fall out of my chair, laughing at their stupidity
Even worse is that Trump is giving Elon autonomy to do whatever he wants, allegedly and reports earlier this month that he was considering cutting funding to Rivian, his number one rival just reeks of blatant corruption. And the stupid Trump cultists applaud.
I have to go look for it, but I read somewhere that he wants to exert the same influence in Germany and France

So for the past few years, I have been fascinated by cults. Above all else, Jim Jones and Peoples Temple fascinates me the most. Sure Jim Jones was something of a leftist, but have you heard him speak? Listen to the nonsense, listen to the ceaseless flow of targeted rage, the us against them mentality. To a rational observer almost all his tirades and talks are at best delusional. Thing about Jones and people's temple? Sure, some of his victims were from low income low education homes, but a lot were from affluent and well educated families.
They both operate the same way. The hypnotic voice, the groupthink mentality and wilful suspension of disbelief. Jim performed "miracles" and Trump promises them. Con man that both of them are, they are really good at getting the gullible to part with their money. Authoritarian to the end, I could see Trump turning on Musk in much the same way Jones turned on Tim Stone, a true believer who discovered too late just what he was mixed up with. Yeah, after 1/6 I could see Trump supporters take poison laden flavoraid if he commanded them to do so.
So yeah, its definitely a cult. I will leave it to @Blondie to do another deep dive about why Trump is reminiscent of another cult, Scientology. Have at it Blondie.

He's pushing for a far far right party to win the election in Germany. He says it's the only way to save Germany.
It's that type of talk that scares people into voting for those types of fascist types. "Only they can save you!"
It's possible he doesn't go back on this, but I would suggest the most likely reason would be because the algorithm is based entirely on pushing tweets of verified accounts with lots of verified followers. Which means his website has been promoting these same people that are now criticizing him, and removing their verified status deboosts the visibility of the criticism.

It's getting worse. Now Steve Bannon is piling on him and apparently during a live spaces event, he accidentally exposed his alt account "Adrian Dittman" which many people suspected was him. He used a voice modulation device to hide his voice but apparently he got so mad at someone that he forgot to use it. Now he's banning people for making fun of him.
He's crashing out.
