Welcome CB Maxwell Hairston

"Slender outside cornerback with long arms and impressive ball production. Hairston is capable of playing all forms of zone and man coverage. He anticipates well with his eyes forward and has the burst to take the ball away, posting six interceptions (three returned for TDs) over his last 20 games. He stays connected in man coverage with good agility and fluidity but needs to do a better job of locating the football downfield. He will struggle to contest big wideouts and his run support will turn off some teams. Hairston has the athleticism and on-ball talent to become a starter, but he needs to prove he can hold up to the rigors and physicality of the NFL game."

Brandon Beane says he gave up opportunities to trade back because the Bills had a first round grade on Hairston and he fit a need. Does the player have concerns? Sure. Most do. He's undersized and hasn't been great in run support. But no one thought Benford would start day #1 either. So it's too early to criticize Hairston at all. Welcome aboard!

Maxwell Hairston seems okay. He will likely be our #4 or #5 CB but what I like most about him?

He’s not Kaiir fucking Elam. The worst draft pick since Aaron Maybin.

Beane has only drafted four pro bowlers as our GM and two of those players (Edmunds and Teller) don’t even play for us.

Beane finds decent contributors but he rarely finds stars. I dunno man, it’s hard to be enthusiastic about our drafts anymore. I don’t even watch draft coverage because who gives a shit?

If you told me 20 years ago when I obsessively memorized the top 15 prospects at each position by heart that I’d one day not care about the draft at all, I’d call you crazy. But here we are.

I used to research the top prospects in need positions, but anymore, I just let it happen and hope for the best
