1. For the third straight cycle, the Democrats ran the same campaign, one of Trump bad, I'm not Trump, vote for me. That can work when you have a global pandemic that his ineffectual leadership caused a lot of needless deaths and suffering in, but in more normalish conditions it doesn't. I asked at the Range why I should vote for her, I asked close friends why I should vote for her, and all I ever got was she's not Trump. She ran on no ideas and it showed.
2. Identity politics. Every election cycle I can more or less point to the exact moment a candidate was fucked even if the data set didn't yet support it. In 2004 it was Kerry heming and hawing on abortion, in 2008 its when McCain introduced Palin, in 2012 its when Obama schooled Romney for sadly having a foreign policy similar to the one he embraced, in 2016 it was Hillary not naming Bernie as her VP, in 2020 it was Trump getting Covid, this year? It was Hurricane Helene. After the hurricane, Kamala was asked how she would handle the crisis. Instead of saying we are going to help those in the most impacted areas first, she said we are going to have an equity based response and use recovery to help the traditionally marginalized first. Tell me hip, if a tornado ripped through your city and flattened your house and those of your neighbors and a presidential candidate said we will be deciding who gets aid based on how many traditional victim points and not who lost their homes and livelyhood during the disaster, would you vote for that person? This is important because this is how she lost North Carolina and Georgia.
3. Get over it. Yeah, Michigan is full of immigrants from Southwest Asia, they looked on with horror at the genocide in occupied Palestine. She could have said, we are going to work to build a lasting peace there and work to have some form of an internationally recognized Palestinian state but she told them to get over it. How many of these people do you think stayed home?
4. ICRockets. Yeah, I blame him and his pet project of transgender and non binary for this election. Biden having men in dresses and homosexuals in his government for no other reason than they were men in dresses and homosexuals caused a lot of revulsion in this country. Most people are fine with gays and gay marriage as they don't feel the government should overly regulate what consenting adults do in the bedroom. The trans shit? That was forced upon them.
5. Taking votes, especially of Blacks, Latinos, and women, for granted
6. Kamala's record. It wasn't very good and she never adequately explained it
7. Another cycle where the party railroaded an MIC, Wall Street, and Intel community candidate through without our consent. They fucked Bernie in 2016 and 2020 and in 2024 they pushed Kamala through with no primary.
It sucks, I hate it, but well it is what it is.
