This was one of my favorite interviews!

Mike Rowe is the creator and host of "Dirty Jobs," "Somebody’s Gotta Do It," and Facebook’s "Returning the Favor." He is also the CEO of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, a nonprofit championing the importance of skilled labor and addressing the critical workforce gap, and host of the podcast "The Way I Heard It."

Joe Rogan should stick to talking about pot and the old school comedy circuit like back in the day before he became a crazy person.

When he addresses serious topics and does that ponderous affectation where he tries to sound “deep” it is the most embarrassing and cringey shit I’ve ever heard. He’s so dumb and so credulous and so receptive to grifty bullshit.

2017 Rogan would hate 2025 Rogan so much. He’s such an obsequious bootlicker to oligarchs and charlatans. But hey it gets clicks so why tell the truth when there’s so much money in lying and conspiracies.

I actually don't pick up on that at all.
He's definitely softened on Trump and he and Elon were friends long before Elon got political.
That's one he needs to come clean about but I haven't heard him talk about Elon much.

I also haven't listened to so many podcasts lately, including Rogan, because of his pathetic ass-kissing of Trump, although I'm almost through his latest with Joey Diaz.
It's good, and I disagree; talking to so many people from so many walks of life has given him more insight and information than most of us ever get.

Regardless, Fridman is way more centered and has a higher caliber of guests, so I go to his podcasts first

Well one thing I'll say as a leftie is that lefties are taking the wrong approach by largely shunning his podcast and others like it.

The answer is not to avoid or shun, but to engage.

Rogan, prior to being a MAGA nut, never struck me as much of an ideologue. He's persuadable as evidenced by Bernie's appearance on his show in 2016.

If the left wants to win ever again, they need to embrace new media and popular podcasts even if they're hostile to left wing politics because viewers have largely shifted away from legacy media.

I don't listen to the JRE because I only like listening to people who are funny, smart, and insightful. And I find Rogan to be none of those things. He just seems like a cooked pothead.

I prefer heady stuff like TWS w/Jon Stewart and Ezra Klein.

I hear you.
Give Fridman a try. His interviews with Ivanka and Zelenskyy were excellent

LOL, PC Principal is the second best character on South Park after Randy.

There’s something so hilarious about the absurd juxtaposition between his outwardly ultra bro appearance and his aggressively “politically correct” values.

Parker and Stone are so good at character development.

in fact the video was on the topic of the grocery store mass shooting IN BUFFALO.

But for sure, I absolutely believe the driving motivator for what you removed was purely its relevance to the subjects of Lex Fridman and the Joe Rogan podcast here on this Buffalo-based forum.

Ain’t gonna BS you, not fond of what I hear from Fridman.

Plus, I’m ultra minimalist in my consumption of podcasts

1) Our political climate is too fucking depressing to spend much time listening to anything topical.

2) I have way too much amazing music to binge.

Maybe if the midterms aren’t a total disaster next year I’ll up my podcast game but right now music is my favorite form of escapism.

His entire brand is treating evil people like they've come by their political doctrines in good faith, so the bulk of the editorial impact of the podcast is that his fanbase gets frustrated when people who know better (who just so happen to be, invariably, people on the far left) don't give those people the same benefit of the doubt.

They weren't, actually. Posts that made you angry were removed alongside ones that made you look bad.

One of the posts you removed was literally a video of Lex Fridman on JRE.
Nope, just the ones that had nothing to do with the topic. And yeah, I clicked that video post accidentally

Right! Like the one with Kevin Spacey and his political doct... oh, wait......

He's had Douglas Murray on twice.

If you have a conversation with Douglas Murray and he doesn't refuse to ever be in the same room with you again, you've failed as a human being on a scale most will never know.

He's had Zelenskyy, also and it was amazing
