Lord,

This holiday season 5 more families will know the pain I have known for 14 years now, their loved one not being at table, not being able to spend time with them, to exchange gifts with them, to see their eyes sparkle with joy that you remembered them and go them something special.

Lord, I am tired of this. I am tired of these non stop murders and shooting sprees that deny so many of their loved ones from small and innocent children in the dawn of their lives to adults whose only real crime was going to a theater, the grocery store, a concert, a worship service, or any of the many mundane activities that nobody should go to having the thought in the back of their mind that someone is going to kill them and shatter the very soul of those they leave behind.

Lord, in coming hours and days you are going to hear jackasses praying and in fact blaspheming as they shirk their responsibility to do something to stop this from happening in future even when ensuring these horrors never happen again is well within their powers. Lord, convict these wretched people. Stir them to action. Convince them that the lives of the people they would be saving by standing up to the gun lobby are far more precious and valuable than the checks the gun lobby puts in their bank accounts. Give them the conviction, courage, competence, and common sense to act.

Now that we have the thoughts and prayers out of the way, lets call congress and get them to fuggin do something to actually stop this shit because its quite clear that the thoughts and prayers are copouts when they have the means to tremendously reduce the number of these horrors.

I hope not. Also, Sandy Hook is what made me lose any remaining shred of respect I had for Alex Jones. While I am a free speech absolutist it does work both ways with Jones. He has the right to say what he wants, but when you call the victims of a horror "crisis actors" in the printed and spoken word, well we do have libel and slander laws in this country and so yeah while I am all for the free market place of ideas, that free market place does not include out and out lies, and so fuck Alex Jones, he got what he deserved.

That is why Alex Jones should have his tongue cut out of his mouth, and why Patti should not have ANY message forum to post on. These message forums have a responsibility to its posters, and I can't wait to sue the shit out of these websites for allowing her and people like her. The ALT RIGHT has been using the internet and message forums as a tool to recruit, and it's time it ends.

If Trumps new FCC Brendan Carr removes the protections from social media platforms, and places like this continue to allow Patti to call dead children paid crisis actors and spread her conspiracy theories, yes, I will. Site owners SHOULD have liability for the popsters they allow on their sites, and the content in which they are allowed to post.

One, anything she posts falls under free speech and two, as long as she's not breaking the law, there's no reason to ban or censor her.
I don't know what happened with her at BZ, but here, she's been way less of a threat or a radical than many people who share her views.
In retrospect, what if she called for all the people on the Left to be banned because she doesn't believe the same things she believes??

I don't take her side on any of her views but I refuse to impede her freedom to express them as is the case with anyone who posts here - until it violates the law or the TOS.

My best advice is to put her on ignore or just ignore her posts - which aren't even very often made.

You create the TOS. You could make it so engaging in bad faith- which is the only way Patti has ever been capable of engaging- is a violation.

This is not productive advice. The reason we don't want her to post isn't because we're worried she'll convince US to agree with her flagrantly abhorrent worldview. We believe she poses a threat to future posters who come in with weaker political literacy.

I appreciate your confidence that more people will find their way here. I hope that happens but anyone would quickly see the rest of us who use actual facts to rebut her opinions

But the point is, if the debate is done, then so is stage where the debate occurs, If everyone here us on the same side, it gets really old patting each other on the back. Having her here (like she's ever really here) give the people who oppose her a reason to post, mainly, I mean, you see where most of the conversation is, right?? here's a hint; it's not Sports or Podcasts....
