It's one receiver in and another one out for the Buffalo Bills at the start of NFL free agency.
Wide receiver Mack Hollins has agreed to a two-year contract with the New England Patriots, according to a report Monday evening from NFL Network. The deal is reportedly worth $8.4 million, with the potential for Hollins to earn $10.4 million through incentives. The deal can't be made official until the start of the NFL's new league year, which comes at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Signed to a one-year contract by the Bills last year, Hollins was initially thought of primarily as a contributor on special teams, but he emerged as a consistent contributor on offense, finishing with 31 catches for 378 yards and five touchdowns. He added five catches for 104 yards and a touchdown in three postseason games, including 73 receiving yards in the loss to Kansas City in the AFC championship game.
Hollins also was a big part of the culture in the locker room. His free-spirited ways – Hollins was famous for not wearing shoes unless he was on the field – filtered throughout the locker room.
"Mack’s juice and energy throughout the entire locker room – it's infectious the way that he carries himself," quarterback Josh Allen said the day after the 2024 season ended. "He's a competitor."
Hollins ended up playing 721 offensive snaps in the regular season, which was 66% of the team total and the most among wide receivers.
"Mack was a huge signing for us in the offseason, and we kind of knew it," offensive coordinator Joe Brady said midway through the 2024 season. "His mindset, the way that he goes about everything that he does– his preparation, his leadership. ... This team kind of bought in to who he is and allowed him to be himself. And, man, he does a great job preparing."
Hollins had the ability to play multiple roles at receiver for the offense, and was the Bills' strongest blocker at the position. His departure leaves a big hole in both the locker room and on the field. The fact that he went to a division rival stings a bit more, too.
"I play this game to win Super Bowls," Hollins said during the season. "This is a team game. Obviously stats are great. Stats get you paid and stats get all these things, but 30 years from now, I don't know. I don't really care. I just want to have Super Bowls and good memories with my teammates."
Earlier Monday, the Bills reportedly reached a three-year contract agreement with wide receiver Joshua Palmer, formerly of the Los Angeles Chargers.
Amari Cooper will become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday, and if he departs the Bills will have a fairly big need at the position.
