Bills notebook: Dion Dawkins was fined for his beef vs. Jets; James Cook a full participant at practice
Although NFL fines are not announced until Saturdays, Dawkins revealed Thursday that he was fined coming off of the Bills’ win over the New York Jets.
Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins generally loves to give, but he will be sending one check without much joy.
Although NFL fines are not announced until Saturdays, Dawkins revealed Thursday that he was fined coming off the Bills’ 23-20 win over the New York Jets on Monday.
Between the third and fourth quarters, officials flagged Dawkins for unsportsmanlike conduct. Dawkins said he was unsure exactly why he was flagged, but it came with an added insult.

The Bills’ Dion Dawkins said Thursday that he was fined $11,000 for an in-game beef with the New York Jets this week. Joshua Bessex, Buffalo News
“I don’t even know,” Dawkins said Thursday. “I got fined, though. I got fined about $11,000. I don’t know what happened, though.”
The lights were down in the stadium, but Bills players, including Dawkins, were having a heated conversation with Jets players between quarters.
Dawkins has no problem letting the public know he doesn’t like the Jets, saying that he in fact hates them.
Dawkins said after the game that quarterback Josh Allen tried to help calm him down. Still, he was caught off guard by the fine on top of the flag.
“I was surprised I got fined,” Dawkins said. “I was the one getting ... (the Jets were) in my face. But I got fined, like, $11,000. So I’m gonna try to figure out a way to pay that.”
