Quarterback Josh Allen leads the Bills into their season opener Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals at Highmark Stadium. Associated Press

1 Let Allen be Josh
Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady said this offseason that this is Josh Allen’s offense. Don’t waste any time showing that. The Bills should let their franchise quarterback dazzle early. Arizona’s pass rush is not up to par, and Allen and the Bills offense should be able to take advantage. Allen should also test the Cardinals’ cornerbacks. Arizona has refreshed its defense, but there are plenty of opportunities for Allen to capitalize on that. Allen’s 44 total touchdowns led the NFL last season. Allen shouldn’t feel as if he has to do it all alone, but he also shouldn’t shy away from the plays that have endeared him to Buffalo.

2 Mitigate Murray
On the other sideline stands a dual-threat quarterback as well. Kyler Murray believes he’s back to full form after working his way back from a torn ACL in 2022. The Bills are no stranger to what Murray can do with the ball in his hands. It’ll take an all-out effort by the defense to slow down the Cardinals quarterback, and it starts up front. Murray is tough to get down, but if the Bills pass rush can affect him in some ways, it’ll be a big help. Once Murray returned last season, he ran for 244 yards on 44 carries – 5.5 yards per attempt. Make Murray one-dimensional, and let the rest of the defense take over from there.

3 Test Tyler
What will kicker Tyler Bass look like now that the season is here? The Bills have shown confidence in him all offseason – even amid some rocky showings – and from Bass’ psychological standpoint, there’s no time to stop now. Bass had one of his best career performances against Arizona the last time these teams met, with the major caveat that it was in an indoor stadium with a closed roof. Still, he had three makes that day: 54, 55 and 58 yards in that order. Now, if the Bills are relying too much on Bass, it’s a sign that something is amiss with the offense. That said, an early test this season of Bass can help the team know where things truly stand with the kicker.

4 Get the WRs rolling
Sunday will be the Bills’ first look at the revamped lineup at wide receiver. While the wideouts are far from the only weapons on this offense, it’ll be good for the short and long term to get the receivers involved early. It’s a boost to the Bills that Curtis Samuel has no injury designation after missing time with a turf toe. Brady should be able to use him in a number of ways to keep the Cardinals guessing. And as rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman makes his NFL debut, it would be nice for him to see some early touches. The Bills need to spread the ball, of course, but Allen now has a chance to see how all the offseason chemistry building will translate to game days.

The Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills face off in Highmark Stadium on Sunday with both teams looking to start their season on a winning note. Buffalo is a near-touchdown favorite at home.

Arizona is looking to rebound from a 4-13 2023 campaign and is counting on a fully healthy Kyler Murray and rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to transform a passing attack that ranked 26th in the NFL last season. Murray is now more than 20 months removed from the torn ACL that ended his 2022 season, and he’ll also be supported by running back James Conner, who is coming off the first 1,000-yard season of his career.

Buffalo has won four straight AFC East titles but is a team somewhat in transition after an offseason full of changes, including two new coordinators. The Bills’ defense also will feature several new starters, including three defensive backs, and will be missing a key piece: Linebacker Matt Milano is out indefinitely after tearing his bicep in training camp.

Quarterback Josh Allen was responsible for 44 total touchdowns (29 passing, 15 rushing) last season, but his propensity to turn the ball over (22 total, including 18 interceptions) is a concern. Allen also will be working with a revamped receiving corps. Second-round pick Keon Coleman and free-agent signee Curtis Samuel will be counted on to contribute right away, while third-year wide receiver Khalil Shakir needs to build on the promise he showed last season. Allen can lean on second-year tight end Dalton Kincaid and running back James Cook, who finished fourth in rushing last season with 1,122 yards.

Allen and company will match up against a Cardinals defense that has been completely rebuilt after last season’s poor showing. There are new faces throughout this unit, which has already been hit with injuries. That’s not a good sign headed into this matchup against Allen, who is 35-13 at home in his career.

I have had it since 2015.

It does need a cleaning but the back burner is just laying there at the back rusted out (still works!!!) and if it costs more than $100 CAN to replace, then I will buy a similar BBQ in the Spring or Late Fall if I get a great deal.

Broil King is quasi Canadian and I have owned a model for almost 40 years now.

Very strong winds here so I had to put the chicken on a higher heat than I wanted so the wiond would NOT blow it out while the wife had me trapped at the local grocery store.

I did play the Bills Shout Song 27 consecutive times while waiting in the parking space closest to the entry so I did make a lot of friends.
