How NOT to do a Ceasefire

Look, I don't care who you think is right in this war. Of late, I have two goals for this war:

1. No nuclear war

2. An end to the killing. 1 million Ukrainians are dead and 100 thousand Russians are. That is good for NOBODY, most importantly the Ukrainians and Russians.

That of course means we need a workable long term ceasefire where as much as possible we play a neutral mediation role and get both sides to make painful but needed compromises to stop the killing and start the road to deescalation and democratization. Some thought Trump would do this. I didn't because he knows nothing about nuance and subtlety which is the core of successful diplomacy. Trump is not anywhere nearer to peace than before, and if anything he's going to escalate this fucker.

Lets see-

Reopen arms and funding, okay I understand why some see the need, but BEFORE you seek a cease fire?

A one month ceasefire? Both sides in this conflict have a very bad habit of using local truces to build up arms and launch new attacks. The Ceasefire needs to be long lasting. There is no way that Putin is going to accept this stupid deal.

So again, not only are we not stopping the killing of a generation of young people, we are going to see serious escalation that could get us all nuked.

I am all for ending this war, but this deal that this dumbass is proposing will do anything but. The only people who will rejoice are those in the MIC, which form a very large part of the deep state that Trump pretends to oppose, but his bullshit obsession with increasing the military budget while slashing that of everyone else is a thread for another time.

So no this is not surprisingly not Trump winning, its more industrial strength stupidity and it poses a risk, a very high risk, of all of us getting irradiated

In case idiots are wanting to know-

Here is what my peace would look like

1. Crimeamony, look up Canalimony. Essentially we paid Colombia for Panama. The peninsula is historically Russian, so fine, whatever. Russia pays Ukraine some tidy sum of money for 100 years effectively leasing it.

2. UN, not NATO but UN peacekeeping troops at the contact line immediately

3. Ceasefire and no flyzone set up over rest of Ukraine

4. All or None EU and NATO membership, Moscow, Minsk, and Kiev get in or nobody does. Putin says this is a security concern? Call his bluff.

5. No arms, no Himars, no more military aid unless Russia does not accept this deal outside of Kursk.

This is just my opinion.... I believe Putin will sign the cease fire and then turn the tables and lie to say Ukraine violated the cease fire. This in turn will get Trump further on Russias side and finally pull away US support.
