Remembering Things Past

looks like some of the malls of my childhood and teen years.

Bannister until about 1996 was amazing. Then the crime and gang violence got way the hell out of hand

There was Indian Springs Mall in KCK, they had a place called Italian Delights that made the best calzones and strombolies and sausage and meatball wraps I have ever had. The pizza was New York style, big floppy thinnish crust, oh man

Only Ward Parkway remains and that is only a couple miles from my home and it lingers on as a hybrid strip mall

Blue Ridge Mall is long gone too. My dad had his practice right across the street. from that one now. Then after he died his partners hung on for a few years, it became a dental clinic and by 2010 it was gone and now a super wal-mart sits on the site. I remember Christmas in the mid 1980s, Santa landing in helicopter was awesome.

But yeah all that remains is Ward Parkway, still doing okay actually but poor parenting and stupid teenagers are killing that one and Independence Center.

A few very large and exclusive malls thrive. Those are in high income areas. Almost all of the malls once anchored by Sears Penney’s are gone

Fumes baby!!!!
You aren't kidding, putting models together and painting them was usually done in the basement.. at any kids house. I sucked at it and just usually got them together enough to make them look somewhat respectable haha. Slot cars were more fun, could paint them up without a lot of hassle.

Still one of the best cartoons ever. Loved em since I first saw them as a little kid when they showed them on the Bozo Show, also they were on Nickalodoen. Sadly, the Amazon remake of the series and the Mr. Peabody movie missed the point. Man they were a lot of fun. Say, do you remember the infamous Bullwinkle puppet?

Never saw any of the re do's, only the original but they replayed them for a lot of years. My favorite cartoon for sure, and a more modern one gets my second, Ren and Stimpy.
