Reunion? Defensive tackle Jordan Phillips visits with Buffalo Bills, expected to sign

The Buffalo Bills love to check in with a familiar face, and on Sunday, they did so once again.

Veteran defensive tackle Jordan Phillips visited the team on Sunday, per the league's transaction wire.

A league source confirmed to The Buffalo News that Phillips is expected to sign with the Bills this week. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero was first to report.
On Sunday, Phillips posted on his Instagram story of picture of a Bills locker labeled "Big Phil" with the number 52.

Phillips, 32, could be a likely practice squad candidate for the Bills. The team is navigating some depth issues at defensive tackle with Larry Ogunjobi set to be suspended for the first six weeks of the season.

This would mark Phillips' third stint with the Bills. The Oklahoma product was originally drafted in the second round of the 2015 draft by the Miami Dolphins. He then spent time in Buffalo from 2018 to 2019, 2022 to 2023 and again in 2024.

After his last game with the Bills in the 2024-2025 season, Phillips was reflective of his role.

“This team is different because everybody has a role,” he said in January 2025. “At one time, my role was as a playmaker. Now it’s more of just, ‘Do what I can, when I can.’ So it’s nice to go out there and make some plays and let everybody know I can still do it.”
Phillips also said at the time that he was open to a reunion.

“I told them if they call, I’ll come back, man, but I don’t think I can go anywhere else,” he said. “So whatever that means, I’m not retiring, but this is the only place that I’m going to play.”
