Last year coastal and I did a weekend trip to Maine!! We stayed in a house boat… best weekend getaway ever!!! Loved Maine!!

Last month I took myself on a 2 night 3 day trip to Lake Champlain, in Vermont and stayed in a YURT with no power, heat or bathroom. I had an outside port-a-potty!! I had the few days ever!!

Love love LOVE living in New England!!

That is not the issue. The green initiatives is what I am talking about. The drilling and fracking is sensible since the grid demand cannot be had with intermittent wind and solar by the IRA was all about green subsidies and forcing electrification upon everyday people.

That is what people see.

I'm aware that's what people see, but the problem here is precisely that. The dipshit retard media people like you consume.

Green energy initiatives aren't a problem; the fact that the only coverage they get is from media with direct financial ties to oil and natural gas conglomerates is the problem. If people consumed news explaining why green energy is good and necessary they'd support it.

There's not a normal working class American in the country who claims to care about the economy that wouldn't approve of green energy if it was framed as America trying to corner the market on new energy sources so we can be the driver of that industry.

I disagree that the message HAS to be dumbed down. It doesn't. The people in charge WANT it to be dumbed down because that's how you keep the populace from demanding a government that is materially more responsive to the needs of the working class.

The people in charge of the GOP MAGA wing dumbed it down to get in. You can’t intellectually massage in a bigger picture into that group.

I thought women were pissed. I thought 32 felony convictions and civil lawsuits and pending charges would be enough. Wrong on both counts

I agree, the MAGA crowd can't be reasoned with. But not everyone who voted for Trump is MAGA. Better messaging to the swing voters was necessary, but for that messaging to resonate it would have needed to provide a counter-narrative to what Trump was selling.

You can't beat "immigrants and trannies are why you're paying more for eggs" with "the economy is good, actually". You beat it by pointing the blame where it belongs: at price-gouging corporations using inflation as a cover to goose their own profits. Dems balk at pushing that narrative because it would piss off donors.

There was plenty of pointing at the company's price gouging. Walmart and Kroger admitted.... over and over. It meant nothing.

Plenty is a term that connotates sufficiency. If you asked Trump voters who aren't MAGA why prices are higher, they'd say "Joe Biden" rather than "price-gouging corporations". If 'plenty' of coverage was dedicated to the real source of higher prices that wouldn't be the case.

The extraordinary morons voted for Trump, but he won the popular vote. So clearly a lot of ordinary morons did too.
