VanSumeren, who turns 26 next week, entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent linebacker with the Eagles in 2023. He spent his first three seasons in the league with Philadelphia.

VanSumeren transitioned to fullback in 2024. He was sidelined last season after a season-opener knee injury. He has played in 21 regular-season games for the Eagles.

VanSumeren began his college career at Michigan before transferring to rival Michigan State. In college, he played fullback, linebacker, and on special teams.

The Bills are also bringing in rookie undrafted free agent Jackson Acker at fullback, providing some competition for the pair as head coach Joe Brady seeks his next fullback.
