The Colts have scored 5 less points than they have allowed in 9 games and have lost their last 2 games.

The Colts are simply NOT good.

Bills-Colts: Who you got? Buffalo News writers make their predictions on Sunday's game

This has the makings of a letdown game. The Bills can't let that happen. Even though they effectively won the AFC East last week, the No. 1 seed in the conference isn't out of the question. To get it, the Bills have to beat Indianapolis before they can even start making plans for the Chiefs in Week 11. Give me more of Ray Davis, who played only nine snaps last week, on offense. That's not enough. Quarterback Josh Allen needs to continue to play a clean game, as the best way to let an underdog gain confidence is to turn over the ball. This is a good gut-check game for the Bills' run defense, since Jonathan Taylor has given them issues in the past. The defense needs to make the Colts' offense one dimensional so the pass rushers can get after Joe Flacco. Bills, 28-20.

The injury issues at wide receiver for the Bills are notable. Rookie Keon Coleman is already out, and veteran Amari Cooper is questionable. It’ll be a good test of how well the Bills can spread around the ball. They’ll also want to get their run game going early. For the defense, if it can continue its streak (11 games) of takeaways, it can make the day easier for the Buffalo offense. The Bills are the better team, but plan ahead for the Colts to keep it close. Bills, 27-21.

Expect a one-possession game because that’s all Indianapolis plays – the Colts are the fourth team all-time to have each of their first nine games decided by seven or fewer points. The Colts’ close scores means the Bills can’t overlook them and ahead to next week’s battle royal against Kansas City. This needs to be a run-game contest for the Bills because of their injuries at receiver and the Colts’ 31st-place ranking stopping the run (149.8 yards per game). The Bills’ highest rushing attempt total this year is 34. How about reaching 40 carries? Twenty for James Cook, nine for Ray Davis, six for Ty Johnson and five for Josh Allen. On defense, the Bills need to get Indianapolis into third down – the Colts are 26th in the league (35.3%). Bills, 30-23.

The Colts have been competitive. They lost twice to Houston by 29-27 and 23-20. Impressive. They lost close to Green Bay (16-10) and beat Pittsburgh (27-24) and Miami (16-10). Those three games come with asterisks. The Packers and Dolphins were without their starting quarterbacks. Pittsburgh lost two fumbles in Colts territory and gave up a gift field goal. Jacksonville’s shaky offense put up 37 on the Colts. The Bills’ offense should have a decent day. The issue is the Bills are depleted at wide receiver. This would be an ideal time for Curtis Samuel to step up and do something ... anything. The Colts have good skill-position talent. Jonathan Taylor is a top runner, and Josh Downs is a budding star in the slot. The Buffalo pass rush must show up vs. Joe Flacco. I see this turning out tougher than most fans expect. Bills, 22-17

Joe Flacco will make his second straight start for Indianapolis when the Buffalo Bills come to town Sunday, and they're hoping the 39-year-old quarterback can end a two-game losing streak. Indy fought its way back into the playoff picture by winning four of five after starting the season 0-2. But the Colts have since lost two games and now face one of the league's hottest teams. Buffalo has won four straight since losing back-to-back games. But the Bills are just 3-2 on the road this season.

The Buffalo Bills are rolling as they go on the road to face the Indianapolis Colts. Strong play from quarterback Josh Allen has Buffalo leading by four games in the AFC East. Following another close loss, the Colts are fighting to stay in the playoff picture with a struggling offense. This AFC matchup sees Buffalo as roughly a field-goal favorite over Indianapolis.

Health issues and an inconsistent running game haven’t slowed down Buffalo. Without star receiver Amari Cooper, Allen threw to eight different receivers during a vintage Week 9 performance against Miami. Buffalo’s offense was particularly lethal during three second-half touchdown drives — even with a running game struggling to make lanes.

With Cooper and rookie receiver Keon Coleman on Buffalo’s injury report, Allen could be forced to make do with limited options once again. Leaning on lead back James Cook might be an option against a Colts defense that is nearly last in rushing defense (31st rushing yards allowed per game).

Indianapolis generated four sacks and three turnovers against Minnesota in Week 9. The Joe Flacco-led offense, however, failed to produce a touchdown and struggled to move the ball.

Two turnovers and an inability to run the ball made the Colts offense ineffective. With a game manager like Flacco under center, Indianapolis needs running back Jonathan Taylor to run with force after a subpar game against Minnesota.

The return of Von Miller from suspension gives Buffalo’s defense an additional pass rusher to attack Flacco. But Taylor should find room against a Bills run defense near the bottom (26th) in rushing yards per play.
