Every one cool if I have access to everything about you? All your private information? Your financial records, your entire online history?? Everything about your families? Your kids? Your neighbors? Your work history? Your Social Security numbers? Everywhere you've ever lived? Your school records?? How and who you vote for?
It's OK if I have all that, isn't it?

Let’s say you’ve committed a crime and you’ve done your time but that record is gone too. You could find yourself in prison again.

That house you own? Really? It’s in someone else’s name. What are you talking about? That paper you have is forged.

You’re a second generation American? We don’t have a record of your grandmother being naturalized. You don’t have birthright citizenship anymore.

This is a criminal enterprise at the highest most dangerous level. Aimed at making money without any repercussions because those institutions will be gone.

People don’t understand the full danger.

Honestly, I am no longer viewing the insult why don't you move to country X as threatz but as an invitation to get out of this shit hole. Honestly, we're headed towards banana Republic fascism and at least some other countries have rule of law.
 
Musk was never vetted by Congress - a Congressional and Constitutional rule.
The DOGE office was never Congressionally approved - another rule.
Did Congress authorize unvetted high school students to have unfettered access and uninspected portable hard drives to download sensitive data? No!
That isn't even something that people with actual clearance are allowed to do.
If "Congress knew this has to be done" they could have voted on it. They didn't.

The choice to cling to one's identity as a Republican even as MAGA makes a full takeover of the party is one that served exclusively to legitimize that movement. If people like sukie and DraftBoy had the courage and integrity to treat the GOP like a comprehensively illegitimate organization it would have been much harder for this coup to reach fruition.

We no longer live in an actual country because a solid 90% of the country failed to treat the Republican Party the way it deserved to be treated, and the 10% who wanted to were told every day for the past 40 years that we were the problem.

Copy and paste one single solitary example. I think Trump is a criminal, disgusting human and a lying asshole who should be in jail. I haven’t voted republican since McCain

Actually I’m rarely in the zone political forum

I DO criticize the democrats in how they assumed support and failed to connect with the average joe… but that is not influencing anyone to vote for Trump. Especially since it was after the election.

So why do you still identify as a Republican? There's NOBODY in that party lifting a finger to hinder Musk's coup. If their values and your values are in complete disalignment, how do you justify it?

Why I am a republican and no one from either party attempting to stop Musk are two entirely different issues.
I would be independent but I like voting in primaries. I get to vote against guys like Rick Scott and DeSantis etc.

The only party that should have been criticized over the past several decades is the Republicans. It’s their think tank group that is wanting what Reagan and now Trump is doing. Criticizing the Democrats for working with the Republicans is influencing the Republicans, and their policies. Hey, I am guilty too, some of us reflect and learn from the mistakes. The Democrats can’t connect when they have the Republicans constantly making excuses for their failures and blaming the Democrats for everything. Democrats are the scapegoats for Republicans and we need to do a better job supporting democrats not just claiming to have voted for them.
 
I DO agree with two things, partly, that Trump is purportedly doing; Reducing the size of the government and cutting wasteful spending. However, firing people just because they work in jobs that didn't support Trump, investigating his crimes, offices that he's accused of being "weaponized" without scrutiny, and pretending a 1% of the budget office like USAID is cutting waste is infuriating.

USAID, for one, many of those funds his sheep think are wasteful are actually used in other countries to "buy" intel on neighboring enemies like ISIS, Hamas, etc. Then add in walking away from the number one agency that studies diseases and medical care, cutting off communications with outside organizations that contribute to things like, global weather patterns for example is fucking insane!
 
Supporters and detractors BOTH want to reduce the size of government and cut wasteful spending but it needs to be done per the Constitution.

Here's a GREAT way to cut waste; go after the bill that says Congress must spend any money left over at the end of the year. I'd rather see that than cut a percent of 1% of the budget that buys intel from other countries on top of the billions spent on US grain that goes to humanitarian causes.

Also, granting Musk and his team access to such sensitive government data potentially contravenes multiple federal statutes, including the Privacy Act of 1974, the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), as well as strict taxpayer privacy provisions under the Internal Revenue Code.
