Four years in high school I successively took electricity, wood shot, metal shop, and auto shop

So what is filling those periods? No one is taking “typing” and there obviously isn’t anything called personal finance

I took typing, only dude in the class. Had woodshop, small motor repair, and FFA. Also had health class one semester, had to get a parents note for watching the hairy Swedish woman giving birth. Also had a cooking class and all of the regular subjects mentioned above. Edit: also took mechanical drawing which Majorly helped me later in life.

I remember this pic. It was taken at a place called Hawley Point on the south rim of Mission Valley that overlooked Jack Murphy Stadium. It was a popular spot in S.D. to party and watch the fireworks shows from. I lived at the top of the road (Stadium Hill) seen in the background at the time.
Oh very cool. I used to live in El Cajon. The only thing I ever attended was a game against the Reds and fireworks while Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon played in 1990
And welcome to the forum!

Random memories:

Anyone remember summer camp? Not training camp, but summer camp be it Band Camp, Scout Camp, Church Camp, or anything else? Anyone remember that?

Also, as its back to school time soon when was it back to school for you when you were kids? For me until my Sophomore year of high school (at which time they moved the start of school up to mid August) I came to dread Jerry's Kids because his telethon meant nothing worth watching was on any channel except PBS if you didn't have cable or satellite and worst yet it meant it was Labor Day which meant you were going to school on Tuesday morning. Then again, August was the happy time of new clothes and shoes. Sure mine were mostly from Wal-Mart (if family finances were good I wore Wangler Jeans, if we were struggling we got Rustler). Yeah, mom would always skimp on the clothing budget which is why I will never have a fashion sense, but she always managed to make sure I got good shoes. Oh and anyone remember trapper keepers? No? What about those pens that had several different colors of ink? No? okay, who wrapped their school tect books in protective paper?

I was weirded out by the Midwest going back to school in August. I'd have hated that.

My first computer was a Compaq pressario and it was obsolete in 2 months. But, it got me on eBay in their early days so I was able to make decent side money off of the thing.

Mine, that I owned, was an HP Pentium 1 4086 with a compressed 1.6GB HDD. That I used was a Commadore Pet
