Remembering Things Past

Army JROTC in high school, one was a major, retired army green beret, the other was a retired army drill instructor. Just great people. Before high school? Well it was daily when I was in Kindergarten but after that it was quite a few years. My take is kindergarten was 88 to 89 and the last embers of the Cold War were going but then in about 89 when the Wall fell and Communism collapsed nobody really saw a need to instill patriotism.

Inside a sit down Pizza Hut when they used to have real ovens (pre conveyor belt) . Pizza Hut was too expensive compared to a (better) small pizzeria.
When Pizza Hut was actually something that was halfway fancy. Yeah, when the pies were made in the restaurant, and those red glasses. Man it was neat. Something terrible happened to our country in the mid 90s, we lost so much that was amazing. So what happened c 1995 to 1997? Also, you were a trucker @HipKat you remember Furr's Cafeteria? They had some big ole fried chicken pieces

When I was a teenager, before you were born lol, Pizza Hut was the bomb. DELICIOUS hand-tossed pizza. A full menu. Pitchers of beer. The one by our house was a hangout, and everyone in there knew us. We washed dishes for free food. Those were good times. I'll never understand why they abandoned that for the swill they serve now
