What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Death Wish, I watched all five of the originals. Honestly the first was actually pretty good. It had a compelling story of a man whose wife gets murdered and whose daughter gets raped which causes him to move from a conscientious objector and something of a pacifist to a violent vigilante after the police do nothing to bring their assailants to justice.

I am only showing the trailer for the original because its the only one worth watching. The sequel? His daughter gets raped and murdered again by Laurence Fishburne and friends. Fishburne needed money I guess because there is no other god damn reason that he should have been in that franchise. Kersey kills the people who raped and murdered his daughter and his maid

In 3 Kersey is back in New York and kills street gangs and there is a sequence reminscent of another third film's climax, Robocop III.

The fourth he's back in LA and fuck me I can't remember it. I wasn't asleep or drunk or high I can't remember it.

The fifth Paul has a new girlfriend and the Mafia murders her.

The First one was compelling. The second was watchable. The rest? Good God they were shit. There's absolutely no character development or discernable plot in the third or fourth other than that Paul Kersey, as played by Charles Bronson, kills people.

That said, check out the first and second there's some great lines and the first is actually pretty damn good.

I remember those. I was a big Bronson fan, after I saw his house in Beverly Hills. Pretty average, tbh.

I highly highly highly highly recommend this film. I won't lie I could not watch this film without thinking of contemporary politics but it is just one outstanding film. Might be the best Hollywood film in a great long while

It's on my list of movies I need to see in the near future

Watched Song Sung Blue which is NOT a bio pic about Neil Diamond but it is based on a true story. It is really good. If you have a woman in your life, she will approve.

Hadn't watched this one in a very long time, watched it the other day on a DVD but it's free on YouTube as well.

so fun story, back in the late 90s when I was a freshman in high school I had a biology teacher who found a way to find excuses to show lots of sci fi and hollywood classics to supplement his lessons. They were talking about genetics and sure enough Boys From Brazil was shown. It was fun

and its not a dig at Miracle (2004), its a great movie, but the 1981 film -though rapidly pushed through production- captures the zeitgeist (spirit of the times) and well it stars Karl Malden, a very under appreciated character actor who made all sorts of great films from On the Waterfront to Patton. Also, it features the actual audio and video footage from the Miracle game. So what you get is Al Michaels' Do you believe in Miracles call in the full emotion as it happened. The Disney film is great, but it doesn't have that raw emotional punch. Also, I saw this right after the game winner in OT. Hell of a moment for Team USA. Though to be sure, 1980 will always be better because right now the NHL is the best in the world. In 1980 it was a bunch of college kids, extremely good college kids who would have long careers in the NHL, v a Professional Team in the Soviets.

Yeah, imagine that the Capitalists had the amateurs. The Commies had the paid professionals.
