One of the top Google searches the days after the election was "who pays for tariffs" and "how do I change my vote?"
Tons of Hispanic Americans and other minorities who supported Trump are saying "well, he won't deport my undocumented friends and family. They're good people" not realizing most undocumented immigrants are no different from the people they know. They are about to learn the hard way.
There's people who want Obama care repealed who openly admit they are relying on the ACA to survive. Not knowing its the same thing. Those who find out are taking to social media to ask "what have I done?"
Arab Americans who voted trump are already realizing they penalized Harris unfairly and voted for a guy who wants to give Israel everything.
All these people are learning that what they just did in electing a fraud cult of personality is about to rock theirs and everyones world for the absolute worst. Others will discover it the hard way.
A year from now, “What have I done?” Is going to be very common question amongst Trumpers
I doubt it, unfortunately. They'll just respond the way they do every time one of the dumb things they believe in turns out not to have reflected reality.

Dems need to figure a way to stop preaching and reach the woefully uninformed majority
You'd be surprised, but mostly social media, whish is a type of forum
They could start by supporting civil rights for special interest groups without putting them on the forefront of policy.
Instead of handing out needles and legal drugs, they could press to restore Mental Health services and use the military to go after the Cartels, as Trump has alluded to.
They could be sensible about the border with REAL efforts to reduce illegal crossings.
My Wall idea is still the best long-term, permanent solution that would benefit everyone, but We DoN't WaNt To HuRt ThE PoOr ImMiGrAnTs FeE-fEe's.... One thing we saw in this election is legal immigrants supporting deportation of illegals. I promise the border was MUCH bigger reason why Harris lost than people want to admit.
Admitt that at THIS point, mass-scale Green Energy isn't practical, and stay on top of residential renewable energy. I went Solar last month and damn happy I did.
There is no border crisis. What Dems needed to do was say so and educate people instead of capitulate to the sort of white nationalist fearmongering you love to slurp up as long as you have a permission structure to pretend you're not a reactionary while doing so.

I agree with this 100%. This is ONE major reason why I have actively gotten involve with my local democratic party, we have gotten so far away from LIBERALISM, that we need to do a HARD reset on educating people what that word even MEANS.
There is absolutely a border crisis when millions walk in without being vetted, or even known about.

You're begging the question. You're taking it for granted that someone being here illegally means they can't be trusted. In order for this to be a valid conclusion there'd have to be evidence supporting it.
But guess what? There's not. Undocumented immigrants commit crime at a lower rate than native-born citizens.
The only other rationale for thinking they're creating a problem would be if they represented an economic burden. Again, that's not the case. They're provably a net positive in terms of labor productivity, and they pay billions in taxes. For Social Security alone, undocumented immigrants pay $90B a year into a system they can't take advantage of.
There. Is. No. Crisis.

That is totally happening. I've lived and worked on the border - within sight of the Tijuana Airport. Watching people cross even then was non-stop.
