Shop was gone long before I got to high school. Oh well the haves didn't need men with manual dexterity and the knowledge of how to build things or women as home makers. Nope, they needed a populace that while well educated had no marketable skills and so therefore they could drive wages down and create more or less permanent debt slaves.

We had Seven periods

Foreign language -4 years (German [until some genius at district hq felt a majority black school was prime breeding grounds for neonazism], French, Spanish, and Latin)

English- 4 years

Math -4 years Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra Trig, Pre Cal, Cal, Statistics

Science- You took Biology freshman year, Chemistry sophomore year, and then you could take your choice of Physics I and II, Chem 2 and 3, or Biology 2 and 3, 4 years

Social Sciences. World History and Geography Freshman year, Economics and Government sophomore year, AP US history Junior or Senior Year, and the other year one semester of psychology and one semester of sociology, or two years of IB US history. 4 years

Your other two periods were divided between the following

1 year of PE/health

1 year of fine arts, art, music, or theater

1 and a half years of practical arts. Typing and accounting.

Theory of Knowledge

You had electives, normally more art, more music, more theater, more PE, or if you were me Army JROTC
