What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

This may very well be the dumbest movie ever, but it's Kevin Smith, so you have to expect a whole lot of "WTH???"

Denis Lemieux on penalties: “You do that, you go to the box, you know. Two minutes, by yourself, you know and you feel shame, you know. And then you get free.” 😂

The Sting. One of my all time favorites, just everything about it is…….fun. It’s a feel-good movie about immensely likeable characters, even though they are actually con men, grifters.
But one of their own gets murdered by a ruthless crime boss, and they plot revenge, stealing half a million dollars by a “Sting” they concoct, taking his money without him being able to do anything about it.
Taken from a book called The Con (I think), originally the writer wanted to direct, and was going to make it darker( like the book), but Redford convinced George Roy Hill to direct and he wanted it to have a lighter, more humorous take. Or something to that effect, I’m not remembering details like I used to 🥴. But, I can’t find anything I dislike about it, to me, it’s a masterpiece.

This scene of the poker game on the train is one I could watch every day and still be amused…

At every Peoria Rivermen game, they use that clip on the scoreboard before the puck drops

Did you see the theatrical release of Martha: a Plodding movie that was overly convoluted and was a slog or the director's cut of Batman v Superman, which although longer did answer some questions. I understand where they were trying to go with it & that they were trying to set up the Justice League movies, but they threw in way too much. The Bat v the Kryptonian could have been so much better if they had just focused on the two orphans. Audiences and fans wanted that, not the whole disorganized flotsam.

Earthquake was okay, but the 1990 miniseries on ABC, at least I think it was ABC -the unredacted one with the subplot of the snipper trying to kill the African leader- was actually better. That said, I do kinda like the 1970s summer disaster film blockbusters.

I haven't watched a movie for years. They're a stupid waste of time. I work 7 days a week, eat, sleep, repeat.

I totally disagree. Movies are an escape. They're the key to unlocking your imagination. They give you insights that you might never discover.

1. The first sentence is sad

2. As for the second, don't get me wrong there have -especially in the past 25 years - been a whole lot of shitty films. I am getting so tired of the theaters having nothing but comic book movies, remakes of far better films, and sequels galore. Not good sequels that fill you in on that universe and its characters but shitty sequels that only have the purpose of trying to get more money out of you. That said, there are films that are almost always worth a watch.

3. I've been there man, and that ain't good for your physical or mental health. I know you're a doctor and prepping for retirement and all, but you gotta take care of yourself. Take a day off, go hiking, take some trips overseas, relax and rest.

I've been saying that too, Sequels, Prequels and remakes
